Explorers Festival Classroom Challenge

What happens when classrooms and National Geographic Explorers connect? At Explorers Festival, we have the chance to find out.

The Explorers Festival Classroom Challenge invites educators across the country to design and facilitate exciting projects inspired by National Geographic Explorers. Classes research an explorer, learn about their mission, creatively tell their story, and brainstorm ways to support their work. In past years, classes have created claymation videos, blogs, visual art projects, service projects, and more.

During Explorers Festival, we share the students’ completed work with participating explorers, who respond with a personalized video message. This year, five classrooms in the D.C. area will receive a visit from their explorer! Here’s a look at the magic that can happen during those visits.
