Explorers at Work: Marina Rivero
National Geographic Photo Ark EDGE Fellow Marina Rivero is focused on tapir recovery in Sierra Madre de Chiapas. Despite her urban upbringing, Marina fell in love with animals from watching wildlife documentaries and camping with her family. She works hard to ensure the survival of the Baird's tapir, in part, by setting camera traps to estimate populations, map their distribution and learn more about their behaviors and ultimately share the beauty of this illusive animal with the communities she works with.
