Truth Is in the Ice

Truth Is in the Ice

Identify the highest possible glacier, drill into it, and gather a sample several meters deep. This is a goal of National Geographic's glaciology team on Mount Everest. If they succeed, they will gather not only the highest ice core in history but also a layer by layer story of the glacier's life—revealing undeniable facts about climate change. By gathering an ice core from this altitude they can provide a glimpse at what was until now not known about the changing of Earth's climate.
