Learn about glaciers by connecting with ice core scientist, and high-altitude mountaineer Dr. Alison Criscitiello. Her work involves living in a tent and drilling samples, called ice cores, in cold places like Antarctica, Greenland, the Canadian high Arctic, and Alaska!
Join her for a presentation about how scientists use ice cores to learn about the history of our planet, and hear behind-the-scenes stories about her life as an Explorer! She’ll then answer YOUR questions, which can be submitted live in the chat bar.
This event is recommended for student groups in grades K-2.
#ExplorerClassroom is for everyone! All events are free.
There are two ways to participate in the virtual event, as a featured class on screen or watching live on YouTube. If space is available, you may request to be a featured class during the registration process.
