Moorea, a part of French Polynesia, epitomizes the idea of a tropical island in the South Pacific. Moorea, like many islands in the South Pacific, was formed by a volcano about two million years ago. In 2010, Frommer's travel guide chose Moorea as the most beautiful island on Earth.
