The National Geographic Society is committed to supporting explorers from around the world. We have invested in staff and programs dedicated to identifying individuals outside the United States, helping to ensure we find and fund the world’s best ideas in the fields of conservation, education, research, storytelling, and technology. To maintain global reach, we’ve established regional programs and teams across Asia-Pacific, East Africa, Europe, and Latin America.

While we fund projects around the world, we encourage applicants from outside of the United States to apply.

We use one application form for all grant types and regions. Please read more about grant application requirements, eligibility, and program priorities on our main grant page before applying.

Call for next generation of ocean heroes

Sky and National Geographic are looking for the next generation of ocean heroes. Together, we are offering eligible explorers funding and support to run marine-based projects, and the opportunity to become ambassadors for Sky Ocean Rescue. Working with you, we will capture and share the outcomes of your projects, including potential innovative solutions, to raise awareness of the issues surrounding ocean health.
