The National Geographic Museum served as FotoWeekCentral with events and exhibitions

November 12—20, 2016

National Geographic Museum hosted FotoWeekCentral during the 2016 FotoWeekDC festival. FotoWeekDC is a citywide celebration featuring 150+ exhibitions, programs, and events highlighting world-class photography, and providing exposure for photographers working locally and worldwide. As FotoWeekCentral, the National Geographic Museum was the hub of this nine day festival. Visitors explored the new "@NatGeo: The Most Popular Instagram Photos" exhibition and the FotoWeekCentral exhibitions, which focuses on contemporary political, environmental, and personal themes. 

Exhibitions

The museum was open from 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. during FotoWeek for exhibitions featuring stunning images from NatGeo photographers.

The FotoDC FotoWeekCentral exhibitions feature high-caliber photography with an emphasis on contemporary themes. Exhibitions with social and political significance were curated to expose visitors to a variety of work, ranging from documentary to fine art and beyond.
