Review:
"Accordion 'n Drum 'n Bass" souns like a genuine folk revival! Turlu Tursu has definitely succeeded in creating a universe of their own consisting of original music, based on tradional themes from all over the world (Maghreb, Turky, Balkans, Irland, India,... ) and blended with rock, jazz and dub.
The themes played by Fabian Beghin on his accordion join the tradition of this instrument, his solos make you rather believe you're listening to an electric guitar or a Hammond organ. Nicolas Dechêne does magic with his bass, playing wonderful melodies, and the drums of Etienne Plumer, altough unbelievably strong, stay full of emotion.
What's more, on this CD the energy of the two guest musicians, the Turkish singer Sibel Dinçer and the clarinet player Aurélie Charneux, fuses effortlesly with the energetic feeling of the trio.
A true "trialogue", made of melodies and wonderful improvisations, the music made by this band is striking by his force and cleverness. The pleasure that these talented musicians show when they're performing on stage, you can find now engraved on this disc which is groovy as hell.
Released in february 2006.
